Lives and works in Ireland
I am an Ireland-based textile artist whose work explores the profound intersections of traditional craftsmanship, herbalism, and the natural world. Originally from London, with mixed English, Chinese, and Jamaican heritage, I built my foundation in dressmaking and textiles working alongside Zandra Rhodes and Jeff Banks. After relocating to Ireland, I ran a bespoke bridal wear design business for over a decade, refining a meticulous approach to garment construction that now informs my contemporary artistic practice.
Deeply rooted in botanical research, my current work is guided by a deep passion for plant medicine, Irish herbal traditions, and native mythology. The practice is as much about ecological study as it is about design. By closely observing wild flora, I extract intricate organic patterns, structures, and imagery from the plants, which I then translate and apply across diverse textiles and clothing. Through this meticulous process, I weave ancient Irish folklore and botanical wisdom into tangible, modern garments.
Ultimately, this exploration is driven by a desire to lead the viewer into the healing world of plant medicine. The artwork aims to provide a window into the therapeutic benefits of nature, encouraging audiences to pause and actively observe the abundance of flora available in their immediate natural environment. By engaging with these botanical narratives, I hope to spark curiosity about our relationship with the natural world and ground us in a sacred, enduring connection to the landscape.
